The Texas-FITT (Federal Innovation and Technology Transfer) program is focused on providing technical assistance to innovative entrepreneurs and small technology firms to enable increasing their participation and award success in the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) / Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) program. The program greatly enhances market commercialization opportunities for new and advanced technologies. SBIR and STTR programs, also known as America’s Seed Fund™, provide approximately $2.8 billion annually through federal agencies with extramural research and development (R&D) programs to support scientific excellence and technological innovation, to build a technologically competitive and stronger national economy.

As a leading Technology Commercialization Center in the State of Texas, we are committed to amplifying the technological & business competitiveness of our clients. The SBDC Technology Commercialization Center is hosted by the South-West Texas Border SBDC Network at the University of Texas at San Antonio’s Institute for Economic Development.
Our Texas-FITT program is funded in part by the U.S. Small Business Administration, and supported by the Office of the Governor of Texas.
