Mariana Vega has been the Director of Labor Market Information at the Texas Workforce Commission since June 2018, reinforcing the agency’s commitment to produce reliable, accurate and timely information on the State’s economy. At the same time, she is committed to providing the products and services needed to get that information into the hands of decision-makers of all kinds and at all levels. Prior to this Ms. Vega worked as an Economist analyzing and disseminating labor market trends for 19 years. She has traveled across Texas to Workforce Boards, business conferences and Chambers of Commerce to discuss current trends and various economic indicators to understand their respective local economies. Mariana was also the editor of the Texas Labor Market Review and other publications produced by LMCI. She has a bachelor’s degree in International Business and Spanish from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas.
